Bringing hope and healing through faith and service
Bringing hope and healing through faith and service

The Jordan Project was founded on November 2, 2018, as a prayer and giving ministry. It is our mission to be in service to the least of them. At some point in all our lives, we were the least of them. (Matthew 25:40)
Shortly after launching the ministry, the founder, Michael, was invited to a basketball game to cheer on teen girls from a local residential treatment center. Noticing that the girls had no parents, snacks, drinks, or food like the other teams, the need was more than apparent. He told the coach, “I have this little ministry. It’s me & Jesus.” Stepping out on faith while unemployed, he offered to provide drinks and snacks for the rest of the season. Knowing the Lord would multiply his portion like the loaves and the fish, he became the snack guy, Mr. Michael. Upon completion of the season, he was determined to grow the ministry and come alongside these amazing young ladies in any way he could.
With the Lord’s favor, the ministry became a 501(c)(3) nonprofit ministry on June 3, 2019. Over the last six-plus years, the ministry has grown with the help of its board of directors, friends, family, and the Houston community. Along our journey with these children, we made a conscious decision as a ministry that our lane would be serving orphans in the CPS system. To remind them that they are “fearfully & wonderfully made.” “Chosen, not forgotten.” To show them the love of Christ that has been shown to us.

Currently, we serve a girls' Residential Treatment Center in Houston, Texas, which houses up to 25 girls ages 10 to 17. On July 4, 2020, we added a boys' Residential Treatment Center in Houston that houses 15 boys ranging in age from 7 to 17.
These children are in the custody of CPS and live in the treatment centers while receiving rehabilitation services and awaiting foster care or adoption. Some may return home pending CPS evaluations and home visits.
Many of these children have experienced physical abuse, sexual abuse, and/or human trafficking. As the ministry expands, so will our territory of service to other Residential Treatment Centers.

The Jordan Project Ministries (JPM) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting foster youth living in Residential Treatment Centers (RTCs). Founded and led by Michael Galindo, JPM has impacted the lives of more than 500 children over the past seven and a half years through consistent compassion, mentorship, and community support. From celebrating birthdays and holidays to simply showing up when no one else will, JPM provides emotional encouragement and a sense of family for children who often feel forgotten. Their mission goes beyond outreach, creating life-changing connections that bring hope, healing, and lasting impact to the youth they serve.
“But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord,
whose confidence is in him.
8 They will be like a tree planted by the water
that sends out its roots by the stream.
It does not fear when heat comes;
its leaves are always green.
It has no worries in a year of drought
and never fails to bear fruit.”
Jerimiah 17:7-8
